Response to COVID-19
The Springstone School transitioned within one day from teaching on campus to distance learning in the Spring of 2020. While we are looking forward to returning to campus, we continue to work with our stakeholders to ensure the health and safety of our entire community is taken into consideration. We are grateful to the parents in our community for supporting Springstone through this challenging time in education.
On February 16th 2021, in our COVID-19 Connection meeting with Springstone families, we detailed the recent decision to remain on distance learning for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. The bottom line for Springstone administration is that we cannot meet the social distance requirement for in class instruction. Our small classroom size is nearly half of the 30x30 classroom model from the CDC guidelines. We are hopeful once vaccinations have been administered more thoroughly throughout the community that the restraints of social distancing in the classrooms will be lessened and we will be able to open safely for in person instruction for upcoming 2021-2022 school year. We are making plans for the upcoming school year in collaboration with our onsite partners and exploring possibilities using space differently in order to re-open our campus in August.
Springstone offers a robust daily distance learning schedule which includes the common core subjects, electives, office hours to meet with teachers one on one, independent work through Acellus online learning program, homework club, and social clubs. Our program runs from 8:30am - 4:15pm daily with the allowance for plenty of Occupational Therapy transitions and breaks throughout the day. Our acclaimed ACCESS program has also continued while on remote learning each Wednesday. Additionally we are offering monthly movie nights for both respective Middle and High School programs. Our Parent Club continues to be an open forum for parent discussion and connection.
